Fort Recovery High School’s boys golf team continued to show improvement but came up short in a 165-186 loss to the Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays on Monday at Portland Golf Club.

It was the best round of the season for the Indians (1-6, 1-3 Midwest Athletic Conference).

Grant Knapke had one birdie and made par four times on his way to a season-low 4-over-par 39. Derek Lochtefeld and Zander Kunkler scored 45 and 47 respectively for the best rounds of their respective years. Lochtefeld made three pars, while Kunkler had a pair.

Cole Muhlenkamp rounded out the team total with 55.

Carson Rammel (56) and Seth Locthefeld (59) also competed, but did not factor into the team score.



Tribe falls to Jays

DELPHOS, Ohio — Fort Recovery High School’s girls golf team lost to the St. John’s Blue Jays on Monday, 214-217 at Delphos Country Club.

Jalyn Bruns led all players with 44 to grab match medalist honors by two strokes.

Shelby Stammen was second for the Indians with her round of 54, and Alli Vaughn finished with 59 for third. Kendra Dues carded 60 to complete the team total.

Paige Bihn and Macy Brunswick also played for the Indians, but they did not count toward the squad’s score. Bihn had 66, while Brunswick had 69.
