Sawyer Miller won his first tournament title of the season on Saturday.
Two days later he received conference accolades.
Miller, a 2015 South Adams High School graduate, was named Sooner Athletic Conference wrestler of the week on Monday, the conference office announced.
It is the second time this season the Indiana Tech senior has received the honor.
Miller, who is ranked second in NAIA at 125 pounds, went 5-0 to win the championship of the Missouri Valley Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Starfire product received a bye to the round of 32 before earning a 5-4 decision against Jahvar Lewis of Midway in the second round.
He needed just 85 seconds to pin Truett-McConnell University’s Brandon Naxivay in the third round ahead of a 1-0 decision over Baker’s Emmanuel Browne in the quarterfinal.
Miller outlasted Morningside’s Keegan Hessler for a 2-1 decision in thesemifinal, and earned a 11-3 major decision over Menlo’s Riley Saison in the championship match.
Catherine Dunn
Jay County – 2015
Scored a career-high 27 points for the Brescia University women’s basketball team on Jan. 17 in an 88-82 loss to Point Park.
The senior was 8-of-17 from the field, 4-of-6 from long range and made all 7-of-7 from the foul line while also adding six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
Two days later, she went 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point line and made seven of 10 free throw attempts on her way to 24 points in a 93-70 win over Carlow. She also collected four rebounds, four assistsand four steals.
Dunn had 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a steal on Tuesday as the Bearcats (6-14, 3-6 River States Conference) beat St. Mary of the Woods 110-71.
The senior is averaging 12.6 points pergame, and is shooting 30-of-64 from 3-point range. Her 46.9 percent shooting from behind the arc ranks fifth in NAIA Division II.

Finished her regular-season swimming career on Saturday by earning another NAIA national cut for the University of the Cumberlands women’s swim team.
The senior won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 2.46 seconds to earn an A cut during a quad meet with Life University, Lees-McRae College and Bethel University.
She also helped the 200 medley B relay place fourth and had the same finish in the 100breaststroke .
On Friday, Smeltzer was first in the 50 freestyle (25.35 seconds), and helped both the 400 medley and 200 freestyle relays win during a three-team meet with Thomas More and Lees-McCrae.
Lexi Dellinger
South Adams – 2018
Reached double figures in back-to-back games for the Anderson University women’s basketball team as it split a pair of games recently.
She finished with 16 points on 4-of-10 shooting with four free throws on Saturday in a 77-68 loss to Mount St. Joseph. Dellinger also had three rebounds and two assists.
The freshman struggled from the field on Wednesday, going 1-for-9 in a 72-69 win over Franklin. But she made all 10 of her attempts from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points in addition to her six rebounds and six assists for the Ravens (9-9, 5-6 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

Scored seven points for the University of Saint Francis women’s basketball team on Wednesday in its 66-59 win over conference rival Huntington.
The sophomore started at center, was 2-of-3 from the field and made all three of her free throws. She also had four rebounds, one assist and a steal for the Cougars (16-7, 8-3 Crossroads League), who have now won five straight and nine of their last 11 games.
Will also contributed two points and four rebounds on Saturday in a 60-49 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene.

South Adams – 2017
Picked up one individual win for the University of Findlay women’s swim team on Friday in its 157-126 loss to Wayne State University.
The sophomore had a time of 4 minutes, 50.1 seconds, to win the 400-yard individual medley. She was also runner-up in the 50backstroke in 28.73 seconds, and sixth in the 100 breaststroke with her time of 1:13.07.
Klopp also helped the 400 medley C relay place sixth.
Sophie Bader
Jay County – 2016
Earned a pair of fourth-place finishes for the Ball State women’s swim team on Tuesday in a 236-63 loss to Miami University.
She was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in 2 minutes, 10.3 seconds, and finished the 200 individualmedley in 2:12.73 to also place fourth.
Bader teamed with cousin Anne Vormohr, Abbie McCarter and Lexie McDonald to finish third in the 200 medley relay.

Also competed for the Ball State women’s swim team in its loss to Miami on Tuesday.
The junior joined Lexi McDonald, Peighton Gilbertand Makenna Bottorff to finish as the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Vormohr anchored the relay with a split of 24.14 seconds as the quartet had a time of 1 minute, 36.92 seconds, a mere six-hundredths of a second behind the top RedHawk relay.
She was also fourth in the 100backstroke (59.69 seconds) and the 200 backstroke (2:10.73) in addition to helping the 200 medley relay place third with cousin Sophie Bader.
Garrett Campbell
Jay County – 2018
Kicked off a winning relay for the Anderson University men’s swim team on Friday in a 126-84 setback to Wittenberg University.
Campbell began the 200-yard freestyle relay with a split time of 24.79 seconds, joining Joshua Ekberg, Andrew Taflingerand Bryce Holt to finish first with a time of 1 minute, 34.64 seconds.
The freshman was also second in the 200 freestyle (2:03.29), third in the 100 freestyle (54.71 seconds) and fourth in the 50 freestyle (25 seconds).

Totaled 14 points over two games for the Anderson University women’s basketball team.
She came off the bench to score nine points on 4-of-7 shooting during Saturday’s loss to Mount St. Joseph. Ault added three rebounds and a career-high six assists.
On Wednesday, the freshman notched five points, one rebound and three assists for the Ravens.

Was runner-up in one event and finished sixth in two others for the Ball State women’s swim team on Tuesday in its loss to Miami.
The freshman had a time of 1 minute, 6.95 seconds, to finish second in the 100-yard breaststroke. She was also sixth in both the 100 freestyle (54.48) and the 100butterfly (1:00.71).

Also swam for the University of Findlay women’s swim team in its loss Friday to Wayne State.
She was third in the 400-yard individual medley in 4 minutes, 59.61 seconds, as she was nine seconds and two spots behind twin sister Ashton.
