ARCANUM, Ohio — The Indians were struggling in the first half.
They only had 15 points at the break and trailed by as many as 11 late in the second quarter.
A second-half rally, especially in the final eight minutes, helped them halt a potential three-game losing streak.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls basketball team outscored the Jets 34-20 in the second half for a 49-44 win over host Franklin Monroe on Tuesday.
The Indians, who had lost their previous two games, improve to 7-9 on the year.
Fort Recovery trailed 16-9 after the first quarter and went into the locker room behind 24-15. But an 8-2 run to start the third quarter, including four points from Val Muhlenkamp, helped the Indians get within one possession, 26-23.
The Tribe was behind by the same margin, 37-34, to start the fourth, and used a stretch of 12 straight points to take a commanding 46-39 advantage.
Muhlenkamp led all players with 21 points, and was second on the team with seven rebounds. Olivia Patch scored 10 points to go with her game-high nine boards. Kierra Wendel and Alli Vaughn chipped in eight and seven points respectively.
