It was coach Bev Arnold’s 70th birthday.

Her swimmers helped her celebrate by staying undefeated.

The Fishers led the party.

Three Fishers won three events apiece Monday as the Jay County Summer Swim Team clobbered an outmanned Union City squad 951-139 at Portland Water Park to run its record to 6-0 on the season.

Jay County, coached by Katy Smeltzer and Arnold, can finish off a perfect regular season tonight when it hosts Randolph County.

Ben Fisher (8-and-younger boys) and Kaitlyn Fisher (9-10-year-old girls) won the same events, taking the top spot in the butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke. Matthew Fisher was victorious in the 11-12-year-old boys butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke, as Jay County won 59 out of 62 events.

Following the Fishers, 17 Jay County swimmers won two events apiece. That included five — Eliza Bader, Vivienne Kunkler, Erica Hathaway, Kyle Sanders and Chase McFarland — in the 15-and-older division.

Other swimmers winning two events apiece were:

13-14-year-old — Mara Bader, Emily Dues, Josh Monroe and Ralph Link

11-12-year-old — Kenzie Huey, Aubrey Millspaugh and Creed Beiswanger

9-10-year-old — Lani Muhlenkamp, Rockland Beiswanger and Raif Beiswanger

8-and-younger — Maria Laux and Finn Hemmelgarn

Adding individual victories for Jay County were Kali Wendel, Elly Byrum, Lila Wendel, Kenna Arnold, Tony Beiswanger, Catie Grile, Aryan Montes, Sam Wiggins, Lauren Fisher, Morgan DeHoff, Jacob Monroe, Zion Beiswanger, Natalie Blakely, Konner Sommers, Nico Minnich and Matthew Minnich.
