BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The TinCaps were in desperate need of a win.
Joey Cantillo helped the cause.
Cantillo had another strong outing Tuesday, throwing a five-inning gem as the Fort Wayne TinCaps snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-0 shutout of the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark.
Cantillo allowed just one hit and struck out four to improve to 4-2 on the season. In his last seven starts, he has an 0.72 ERA with 44 strikeouts while allowing 18 hits and eight walks over 37 1/3 innings.
Justin?Lopez hit his team-leading sixth home run of the season, a solo shot in the second inning.
Blake Hunt hit an RBI single in the eighth inning, and Xavier Edwards hit a two-run double in the ninth.
