DECATUR — Jay County’s middle school swim teams both picked up road wins against Bellmont on Monday.
The girls grabbed a 95.5-85.5 victory, while the boys won 91-86.
Mara Bader and Morgan DeHoff both picked up a pair of individual victories. Bader claimed the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle and 50 butterfly.
DeHoff got wins in the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle.
Maddy Snow (diving) and Aubrey Millspaugh (100 breaststroke) also won their respective events.
Abby Johnson, Hannah Laux, Kenzie Clayton, Emma LeMaster, DeHoff, Bader and Millspaugh combined to win all three relays for the girls.
Earning two wins each for the boys were Nick Lyons, Ralph Link and Josh Monroe. Lyons was victorious in diving and 100 backstroke; Link won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while Monroe beat the field in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle.
Wyatt Kunkler, Monroe, Lyons and Link teamed to take first in the 300 freestyle relay.
Stars fall to Norwell
BERNE — The South Adams Middle School swim teams lost to the Norwell Knights on Monday.
The girls fell 128-48 and the boys lost 143-20.
Delaney Dunnuck and Maggie Nussbaum had the only two wins for the SAMS girls. Dunnuck had a time of 5 minutes, 23.33 seconds to win the 400-yard freestyle.
Nussbaum was first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.35.
Blaine Duff had the best individual finish for the Starfire boys.
He was second in the 200 individual medley.
