Jay County High School’s volleyball team lost to the Heritage Patriots on its cancer awareness night, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.
The win gave Heritage (24-3, 6-0 Allen County Athletic Conference)?a clean sweep of the ACAC titles after winning the tournament crown earlier this year. Jay County dipped to 14-6 (3-3 ACAC).
Natalie Miles led the team in kills (13), digs (14)?and aces (seven). Alana Kunkler recorded eight kills, and Sara Hemmelgarn led the team with four blocks.
Jay County’s junior varsity team lost, 25-17 , 25-23. Madison Brunswick tallied five kills while Izzy Rodgers had eight assists and eight digs.
MAC standings clear
ST. HENRY, Ohio — The top of the Midwest Athletic Conference is a little more clear as the Fort Recovery volleyball team lost to the Division IV No. 1 St. Henry Redskins 25-18, 25-21, 25-16.
The New Bremen?Cardinals, ranked second in Division?IV, and St.?Henry sit atop the MAC at 6-1. Fort Recovery and Coldwater are both 5-2.
It was the third consecutive loss for the Indians (15-4), who are fourth in Division?IV. Whitley Rammel and Paige Fortkamp had 10 kills each. Broke Kahlig recorded 13 digs as Lilie Leuthold and Rammel had four blocks each.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also lost, 25-20, 25-16. Emma Kahlig finished with four kills.?Audra Bubp and Aubrey Knapke had seven digs apiece.

FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams split with the New Bremen Cardinals on Thursday.
The eighth graders lost 25-10, 25-19, and the seventh grade team had a 25-16, 12-25, 25-13 triumph.
Mara Pearson notched three kills for the eighth graders, and Allison?Knapke chipped in a pair of aces.
Kennedy Muhlenkamp led the seventh graders with five kills, and Emma Will had a team-high five aces.
EJ’s B team wins
East Jay Middle School’s sixth grade B team beat RJ Baskett on Thursday, 25-9, 25-18.
The A team lost, 25-23, 25-23.
Kendel Rowles had 12 aces in the win for the B team.?Emily Young and Mikalah Shauver had three aces each.
Mya Kunkler and Kayla Jetmore finished with three kills each for the A team. Jetmore also had four aces.
