Indians seeded second

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Indians received the second seed for the district tournament.

A conference rival is on top.

Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team got the second seed Sunday for the OHSAA Division IV Kalida District tournament.

Midwest Athletic Conference rival and top-ranked St. Henry is the No. 1 seed.

Fort Recovery (15-4), which is ranked sixth in the state, will host a sectional final at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 against the winner between Columbus Grove and Delphos St. John’s, who play in the sectional semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15.

The Indians will also host another sectional final at 6 p.m. Oct. 17. Lincolnview will meet either Lima Central Catholic or Ottoville.

In the top half of the bracket, St. Henry hosts either Wayne Trace or Continental at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17. 

Crestivew and Lima Perry meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 15, while Parkway hosts Temple Christian at the same time. Winners of those two sectional semifinal matches play in the 5:30 p.m. sectional final at St. Henry.

Sectional champions advance to the district tournament at Kalida. The district semifinals will be 5:30 and 7 p.m. Oct. 21, and the district championship is 6 p.m. Oct. 24.
