CELINA, Ohio — The Indians remain perfect against non-conference opponents.

Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team swept the Celina Bulldogs on Monday, 25-18, 25-13, 29-27.

It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Division IV No. 6 Indians (13-1). The Tribe is 10-0 against opponents outside of the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Paige Fortkamp paced a well-balanced Fort Recovery offense. She led the team with seven kills, one more than Paige Jutte. Whitley Rammel tallied four kills, Olivia Patch had three kills and Brooke Kahlig added a pair of kills.

Kierra Wendel recorded 10 digs and Fortkamp was second with seven. Patch collected five blocks, Jutte tallied three blocks while Hope Wendel totaled 10 assists.

Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team lost, 24-26, 25-14, 25-17.

Emma Kahlig led the way with seven kills and Grace Klingshirn had four kills. Grace Guggenbiller had 13 digs and Madi Knapke finished with 10 assists.



FR ekes out win

DELPHOS — Fort Recovery’s girls golf team eked out a win against the Wapakoneta Redskins and Jefferson Wildcats on Monday at the Delphos Country Club.

The Indians shot 194, beating the Redskins by one stroke. Jefferson shot 207.

Jalyn Bruns and Shelby Stammen led the Indians, shooting 42 and 44 respectively.

Macy Brunswick was third on the team with her round of 53, and Alli Vaughn completed the team score with 55.

Paige Bihn (60) and Kendra Dues (62) also competed but did not factor into the team total.



Tribe tops Panthers

FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery freshman volleyball team swept the Parkway Panthers on Monday, 25-21, 25-14.

Allysen Fullenkamp led the squad, which is 6-0 on the season, with 10 kills. Brooklyn Jutte and Abby Knapke had four kills each.

Amy Stammen’s five aces were tops on the team, and Jutte followed with three. Knapke also contributed a pair of blocks.



Meeting is Monday

The Jay County Winter Swim Club will have an informational meeting at 6 p.m. at the JCHS pool.

All interested swimmers are required to have at least one parent in attendance.

Practices are set to begin Sept. 30, and more information will be provided at the meeting.

First-time swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool without stopping and be knowledgable about the competitive strokes.
