CELINA, Ohio — Jalyn Bruns has made history twice already this season.
She holds the school record for both 9- and 18-hole matches.
It’s only fitting she made history again.
Bruns, a sophomore, became the first Fort Recovery High School girls golfer to qualify for the district tournament as she placed fourth overall in the Northwest District Division II Sectional Tournament on Tuesday at Celina Lynx Golf Club.
Lima Central Catholic won the team championship by shooting 315. St. Henry (352) and Coldwater (372) were second and third respectively. Fort Recovery shot a school record 389 for fourth.
The top three teams and three individuals not on advancing squads earn births into the district meet, which is slated for Monday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay. From there, the top four teams and top four individuals make state.
Bruns shot 85, one stroke off her school record, to place fourth overall.
