VERSAILLES and CELINA, Ohio — Jaylyn Bruns was again in the top five as an individual.
The Indians were there as a team as well.
Bruns took third overall in leading the Fort Recovery High School girls golf team as it placed fifth Thursday in the Lady Tiger Tee tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.
The host Versailles Tigers shot 391 to earn the championship in the 13-team tournament. Fort Loramie totaled 398 for second, and Ben Logan had 404 for third. The Indians finished with 421.
Bruns had 44 on the front nine and matched that on the back to score 88 as the Tribe’s top player. Shelby Stammen shot 95 for seventh overall, and Alli Vaughn had 114 to tie for 31st.
Kendra Dues rounded out Fort Recovery’s team total with a 124, which placed her 44th.
Paige Bihn (125) and Kim Hart (135) also competed but they did not factor into the team total.
St. Henry’s Ellen Neumann was the individual champion with her round of 80.
On the previous day in the Gary Broering Memorial Tournament at Mercer County Elks Golf Club, Fort Recovery shot 425 for second place, behind St. Henry’s 386. Wapakoneta was third out of 10 teams with 432.
Bruns shot 92 and Stammen finished with 98 to place second and third overall as well as make the All-Tournament team. Trisha Gaerke ended with 116 and Bihn was three strokes behind.
