CELINA, Ohio — The Patriots were on a hot streak.

They had won three consecutive games to start the season, including two shutouts, and averaged more than four goals per game.

All of that came to a screeching halt Thursday.

Jay County High School’s girls soccer team didn’t manage a shot on goal in a 10-0 loss to the Celina Bulldogs.

It marks the third consecutive loss for the Patriots against the Bulldogs, and they have a minus-26 goal differential in those games.

Celina (2-1) led 7-0 at halftime behind a four-goal effort from Mia Rolfes. Taylor Klingshirn also had three goals for the Bulldogs, and Zoey Burns added a pair of goals.

Thursday’s 10-0 margin was the most goals the Patriots have allowed and the largest margin of defeat since a 10-3 setback to Bellmont on Sept. 13, 2018.
