FR swimmers 18th at district

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — The Indians’ swim season came to a close Friday.

The best finish for the Fort Recovery High School girls swim team was 11th place Friday in the OHSAA Division II District meet at Bowling Green State University.

The Indians scored 32 points for 18th place out of 28 scoring teams. Celina won with 196 points, ahead of Wauseon (188) and Ontario (181).

Kyra Clark, Audra Bubp, Autumn Burk and Ava Bubp teamed to take 11th in the 200-yard medley relay with their time of 1 minute, 56.66 seconds.

The same four were 13th in the 400 freestyle relay, and Rachel Acheson, Shelby Stammen, Audra Bubp and Burk placed 17th in the 200 freestyle relay.

Ava Bubp was 12th (2:04.93) and 14th (1:04.59), respectively, in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly races. Clark was 15th in the 100 backstroke (1:05.19) and 17th in the 200 individual medley (2:27.24).

Audra Bubp finished 15th in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.93), Burk was 24th in the 100 butterfly (1:06.63) and Stammen ended 30th in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.75).
