In her first year leading her alma mater, Holly Gann led her team to a conference title.

Monday she earned another accolade.

Gann, a 2007 Fort Recovery High School graduate and current coach of the Tribe girls basketball team, was named co-coach of the year by the Midwest Athletic Conference today.

Four Indian players were named to all-conference teams as well.

Gann guided the Indians to a 8-1 mark in MAC play to secure a share of the conference title, the first for the program since 1991.

After dropping the conference opener Dec. 5, the Indians (17-5), who are the top seed for the Division IV Wapakoneta district tournament, won eight in a row to clinch the title with the Marion Local Flyers. Beth Streib, the Flyers’ coach, was also named co-coach of the year.

FRHS senior Val Muhlenkamp, a future Findlay Oiler, was named first team All-MAC, while juniors Alli Vaughn and Kierra Wendel earned second-team honors.

Brooke Kahlig was given honorable mention.

Minster junior Ivy Wolf was named player of the year for the second consecutive season.
