FORT RECOVERY — The Indians are still flawless.
Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team stayed perfect on the season by beating the Parkway Panthers on Thursday, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, at Fort Site Fieldhouse.
The win moved the Indians to 5-0 (2-0 Midwest Athletic Conference).
Paige Fortkamp led the Tribe with 19 kills, and Whitley Rammel was a distant second with 10 kills. Marissa Gaerke contributed seven kills, and tied Fortkamp for the team lead of 11 digs.
Hope Wendel recorded 25 assists and nine digs, and Emma Kahlig chipped in 19 assists.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team won, 20-25, 25-12, 25-21.
Audra Bubp and Mara Pearson led the squad with 15 and 10 kills, respectively. Pearson tallied 10 digs, and Faith Wendel ended with five assists. Grace Klingshirn led the squad with six blocks.
Rammel leads in loss
Carson Rammel carded a 43 Thursday in leading the Fort Recovery boys golf team in its 166-190 loss to the Minster Wildcats at Portland Golf Club.
Derek Lochtefeld was second on the Tribe (4-6, 3-4 Midwest Athletic Conference) with his round of 47, one stroke ahead of Cole Muhlenkamp.
Russell Gehle shot 52 to complete the team score.
Zander Kunkler (53) and Seth Lochtefeld (55) also competed but they did not contribute to the overall total.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also lost, 200-228. A.J. Romer and Carson Siefring tied for the team-low of 54. Matthew Romer shot 58 and Gavin Faller had 62.
Girls fall to ‘Cats
MINSTER, Ohio — Fort Recovery suffered its second conference loss on Thursday, falling to the Minster Wildcats 195-200 at Arrowhead Golf Club.
Jalyn Bruns led the Indians, who are 4-2 in Midwest Athletic Conference play, with her round of 43. Shelby Stammen was second with 50, and Alli Vaughn shot 51. Paige Bihn shot 56 to round out the Tribe’s total.
Kendra Dues shot 57 and Trisha Gaerke had 58.
FR 7th wins
FORT RECOVERY — Reece Wendel scored two touchdowns in leading the Fort Recovery seventh grade football team to a 12-0 victory against the Coldwater Cavaliers on Thursday.
The win propelled the Indians to 1-0-1 on the season.
The FRMS eighth graders lost, 8-0, and dip to 0-2 on the season.
