Patriots split a pair of duals
The Patriots split a pair of matches with Delaware County foes.
Jay County High School’s wrestling team went 1-1 in a double dual with the Yorktown Tigers and Delta Eagles.
The Class 2A No. 3 Patriots beat Yorktown 42-36 and fell to Class 2A No. 9 Delta 43-36.
Cody Rowles was 2-0 in his 113-pound matches. Tony Wood was also undefeated on the day, winning one match each at 126 pounds and 132 pounds. A.J. Myers (170), Bryce Wenk (182) and Ramon Bravo (195) each went 2-0.
Ethan Reiley was 1-1 at 120 pounds. Cameron Gage (152), Conner Specht (220) and Max LeMaster (285) were 1-1 in their respective weight classes.
Landon Garringer, Taye Curtis, Kaleb Meadows, Daidrick Retz and Nate Paxson suffered two defeats apiece.
Jay County is next in action 6 p.m. Friday for the first two rounds of the Allen County Athletic Conference dual tournament. Rounds three through seven are Saturday.
