Last week at Arcanum: Riley Hiser scored four touchdowns and the Fort Recovery defense kept one of the nation’s most prolific passers mostly in check in a 40-30 victory in the opening round. Hiser rushed for 233 yards, and Cale Rammel had a rushing TD as well.
Season leaders: Passing — Cale Rammel – 90-of-180 for 984 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions. Rushing — Riley Hiser – 227 carries for 1,254 yards and 12 touchdowns. Receiving — Reece Guggenbiller – 25 catches for 374 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Caleb Evers – 75 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Last week at Springfield Northeastern: Anna quarterback Carter Seigel threw two touchdown passes and the Rocket defense kept Northeastern out of the end zone in a 17-3 victory. The Rockets were ahead 10-0 before Springfield got its field goal as the first half time expired.
Season leaders (through 10 games): Passing — Carter Seigle – 109-of-213 for 1,151 yards, eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Rushing — Justin Richards – 119 carries for 606 yards and eight touchdowns. Receiving — Zach Ambos – 36 catches for 411 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Hunter Schmidt – 97 tackle and one tackle for loss.
Last meeting: Fort Recovery had three drives stall inside the 12-yard line, including one at the Anna 1, in a 28-0 loss on Sept. 10. Carter Seigel had two TD passes for Anna, and Justin Richards had 121 yards rushing yards and caught one of Seigel’s TD tosses. Riley Hiser led the Indians with 85 rushing yards, and Rammel completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 63 yards.
Game notes: This is the 12th meeting all time between Fort Recovery and Anna with the Rockets holding a 10-2 advantage in the series Fort Recovery won 24-7 in 2020. This is their first meeting in the playoffs ... Anna is the the No. 11 seed in Division VI Region 24, while Fort Recovery is seeded 14th ...
