It hasn’t taken long for Alli Vaughn to make an impact on her new team.
Vaughn, a 2021 Fort Recovery High School graduate, totaled 18 points over two games for the Huntington University women’s basketball team as it hosted the Huntington University Classic on Friday and Saturday.
The freshman scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting in a 74-69 loss Friday to Indiana University-Southeast. She missed her only 3-point attempt and made both of her free throws. She also had four rebounds and four rebounds.
The following day, Vaughn scored 12 points for the Foresters (2-5) in a 68-58 loss to IU-South Bend. She was again 50% from the field (3-of-6) and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She pulled down seven rebounds and dished three assists.
The former Indian has made three starts for Huntington, and is an even 50% from the field in seven games. She is 5-of-13 from long range and averages seven points per game.

Had his career with the University of Saint Francis football team come to a close Saturday in a 37-7 loss to Concordia University.
The redshirt junior, who will forego his final year of eligibility, picked his final game to throw the first touchdown pass of his career. The running back connected with Matt Kominkiewicz for a 2-yard touchdown in the first quarter that evened the score at 7-7.
It was the only time the Cougars reached the end zone.
Homan rushed seven times for 30 yards and caught two passes for an additional 24 yards. He also had one tackle.
The Cougars ended the year 3-6 (1-5 Mid-States Football Association).
Travis Sutter
Fort Rec. – 2017
Ran for the Ohio Northern University men’s cross country team as it competed in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday at Blue River Memorial park in Shelbyville.
Sutter had a time of 26 minutes, 38 seconds, in the 8K race to finish 84th overall. He was sixth for the Polar Bears, who scored 277 points for seventh out of 37 teams.
Alex Phillip of John Carroll claimed the individual championship in 24:27.2, leading his team to the title with 62 points.
Ethan Theurer
Jay County – 2018
Played his final game for the University of Saint Francis football team in its season-ending 37-7 loss to Concordia University on Saturday.
The senior defensive end recorded five total tackles, including two behind the line of scrimmage. He also forced a fumble and recovered the same loose ball.
Val Muhlenkamp
Fort Rec. – 2020
Made her season debut for the University of Findlay women’s basketball team Saturday in an 83-52 loss to Saginaw Valley State University.
The sophomore came off the bench to log three minutes, during which she pulled down one defensive rebound for the Oilers (0-2).
