Last week at South Adams: Jay County gave up too many big plays in a 42-13 loss to Class 1A No. 7 South Adams Starfires. The Starfires scored five touchdowns of 25 or more yards and blocked a punt for another TD. Quinn Faulkner rushed for 63 yards and also had a 67-yard TD pass to Justin?DeHoff.

Season leaders: Passing — 29-of-70 passing for 368 yard, four touchdowns and seven interceptions. Rushing — Quinn Faulkner – 120 carries for 928 yards and 13 touchdowns. Receiving — Quinn?Faulkner – 16 catches for 150 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Qadon Ferrell – 61 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one blocked punt.

Last week at Heritage Christian: Lapel went toe-to-toe for two quarters with Heritage Christian, but the Eagles pulled away with 27 points in the second half for a 48-21 victory. Tyler Dollar rushed 28 times for 199 yards and three TDs, and Brennan Stowe threw for 61 yards. The Bulldogs surrendered 524 yards of total offense.

Season leaders: Passing — Brennan Stow – 75-of-101 passing for 1,129 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushing — Tyler Dollar – 117 carries for 1,085 yards and 17 touchdowns. Receiving — Nick Witte – 24 catches for 502 yards and eight touchdowns. Defense — Coleton Kadinger – 76 tackles, six tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a blocked punt.



Last season: Big plays defensively and four turnovers crippled Jay County in a 43-15 loss to the Lapel?Bulldogs. The Patriots trailed 36-0 before scoring back-to-back touchdowns in less than four minutes. Quinn?Faulkner (79 rushing yards) had a 13-yard TD run, while Bailey Cox (76 yards)?scored on a 5-yard run. Lapel’s Tyler Dollar had 176 rushing yards and quarterback Brennan Stow had 304 passing yards.

Game notes: This is the third meeting all time between Jay County and Lapel, and JCHS is winless in those contests. The?Bulldogs have outscored the Patriots 71-21 ... This is the final regular season road game for Jay County, which hosts Heritage Oct. 15 for the Patriot Trophy ...
