GREENVILLE, Ohio — Anna Roessner, Alexis Wendel and Ellie Will finished in successive order.
They were in the top 13, too.
The trio of Indians finished near each other in helping the Fort Recovery High School girls cross country team take second Saturday in the Treaty City Invitational White Division race at Greenville.
New Bremen scored 57 points for the title. Fort Recovery and St. Henry both had 72 points, but the Indians earned the tiebreaker based on its sixth runner finishing one spot ahead of St. Henry’s.
Legacy Christian won the boys’ race with 80 points. Marion Local (82) was second and Houston (84) place third. Fort Recovery had 235 points for eighth.
Roessner led the Indian girls by taking 11th in 22 minutes, 20 seconds, and Wendel was 12th one second behind her. Will ended 13th in 22:27.
Caitlin Weitzel was 24th in 23:08, and Megan Diller placed 26th in 23:23.
Henna Hart, the sixth runner for FRHS, was 32nd, one spot ahead of Alana Wehrley of St. Henry to give the Indians the edge.
Trevor Heitkamp was the top FRHS boy, taking fifth in 17:37. Ethan Evers ended 66th in 21:57, and Caleb Rammel was 76th in 22:08.
Aidan Heitkamp had a time of 25:19 for 111th, and Christian Marchal was 117th in 26:23.
Also running for the FRHS girls were Joelle Kaup (36th), Alyssa Heinrichs (40th), Nicole Braun (68th) and Saidy DeRoo (91st). Caden Marchal (127th) ran for the FRHS boys.
Junior high
Makenna Huelskamp earned yet another victory, winning the junior high girls race in helping Fort Recovery place ninth.
Versailles totaled 63 points for the team victory. South Adams (128) was runner-up and Coldwater (140) took third.
Tipp City had 48 points to claim the boys’ title. Versailles totaled 73 for second, and Fort Loramie had 110 for third. Fort Recovery finished 14th with 311 points.
Huelskamp, a seventh grader, had a time of 12 minutes, 22 seconds, a victory of more than five seconds over runner-up Camille Borchers of Fort Loramie. It’s the third win in as many races for Huelskamp.
Madison Heitkamp was the No. 2 runner for the Indians, placing 38th in 15:16. Megan Weitzel (62nd) finished in 16:26, Aubrie Heitkamp (64th) ended in 16:34 and Kylia Dues (66th) had a time of 16:35 to complete the team score.
For the boys team, Parker Brunswick placed 39th with his time of 12:57. Reese Diller took 45th in 13:01, and Trevor Bergman was 70th in 13:24.
Russell Hart (14:06) finished 98th and Matthew Marchal (14:25) placed 106th.
