ANNA, Ohio — Carter Siegel didn’t throw a ton, but he was effective.
Justin Richards had an all-around night for the Rockets.
Siegel threw a pair of touchdowns, one of which went to Richards, for the Anna Rockets in handing the Fort Recovery Indians a 28-0 Midwest Athletic Conference loss Friday.
It was the second consecutive conference loss for the Indians (2-2, 1-1 MAC), who opened with wins over Wayne Trace and Urbana before falling last week to top-ranked Coldwater.
Richards caught a 27-yard TD toss from Siegel to start the Rockets’ scoring with four minutes gone in the second quarter. Barely five minutes later, Siegel tossed his second scoring pass of the night — a 38-yarder to Zach Ambros — giving Anna (2-2, 2-0 MAC) a 14-0 lead it carried into halftime.
Brandon Axe put the Rockets ahead of Fort Recovery by a score of 21-0 with his 7-yard scamper near the midway point of the third. Hunter Schmidt capped the scoring with his 20-yard TD run with 63 seconds to go in the period.
Siegel finished 12-of-17 passing for 174 yards, 84 of which went to Zach Ambros on five connections. Richards had a game-high 121 yards on 15 carries, and on defense he had three stops Schmidt had 34 yards on five touches, while Axe had just one run.
Fort Recovery, which returns to Barrenbrugge Athletic Park to host the Versailles Tigers (3-1, 1-1 MAC) on Friday, got 112 rushing yards on 15 totes from Riley Hiser.
Cale Rammel completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 63 yards. He was sacked four times for a loss of 32 total yards. Reece Guggenbiller and Hiser had 19 receiving yards apiece. Guggenbiller caught two Rammel passes while Hiser hauled in one.
