CELINA, Ohio — The Patriots weren’t quite at their best.
But they were within range.
Jay County High School’s girls golf team shot 486 Saturday to take sixth in the Allen County Athletic Conference tournament at Celina Lynx Golf Club.
That mark was seven strokes off its season-best score set in the Bellmont Invitational on Aug. 3.
Heritage, which also won the round-robin title, was the tournament champion with its score of 418. Bluffton was the runner-up with 434, while Southern Wells was two strokes behind in third.
Paityn Chapman turned in the top score for JCHS with her round of 117. She made par once, doing so on the par-3 seventh hole. Chapman was 19th overall.
The top seven players earn first team all-ACAC honors, while those placing eighth through 14 are on the second team.
Janae Jacobs, who was even on the par-5 sixth hole, shot 121 as the second-best team total. Maddy Snow had a 123, while Rosealynne Smith completed the team score with her 125. Smith was the only Patriot to convert par multiple times, doing so on the par-4 fifth and par-3 12th holes.
Cassandra Coffin also competed, but her round of 140 did not factor into the team score.
Mary Jones of Adams Central shot 82 to claim the individual championship.
