SELMA — Joseph Boggs had his winning streak come to an end.
But he wasn’t far off the pace.
Boggs finished as the runner-up Friday night in leading the Jay County Junior High School eighth grade boys cross country team to a second-place finish in the Selma Invitational.
The Patriot seventh grade boys finished fourth out of nine teams. The girls did not have enough runners for a team score.
Boggs, who had won four consecutive races, posted a time of 11 minutes, 11.2 seconds in the 3K race. Jackson Bradley of Selma won the event in 11:05, as he and Boggs were the only runners to break the 12-minute mark.
