NEW?BREMEN, Ohio — The Indians tied a top MAC?rival in their opener.

They nearly did the same in their second outing.

Fort Recovery High?School’s girls track team came up just short in a three-team meet Tuesday, scoring 67 points to finish two behind the New Bremen Cardinals. Parkway was third with 32.

The FRHS boys scored 36 points for third behind New Bremen (70) and Parkway (68).

Sophomore sprinter Anna Roessner paced the Tribe girls, who opened last week by tying with 2022 Midwest Athletic Conference runner-up Coldwater, with wins in the 200-meter dash in 28.25 seconds and the 400 dash in 1 minute, 3.83 seconds.

FRHS also got wins from Natalie Brunswick (3,200 run), Kiana Matsuda (300 hurdles), Mara Pearson (long jump) and Karlie Niekamp (discus).

Trevor Heitkamp took the 1,600 run and 3,200 run for the boys team in times of 4:33.87 and 9:54.99, respectively. Adding victories were Austin Steinbrunner (200 dash) and Connor Kaikala (long jump).
