JCHS softball stays perfect

Jay County roundup

The Patriots had an explosion of offense over the weekend. Four runs Monday were still enough for a win, keeping them unbeaten.

The offense came from everywhere against Celina, as the Patriots racked up 35 hits over the pair of games. Mady Fraley had four hits in the opening win while Riah Champ finished 3-for-3 in game two. Mallory Winner and Renna Schwieterman each hit home runs during the sweep, as eight players had multiple hits and six recorded two or more RBIs.

Winner earned the game-one win while Taylor Brown earned the victory in game two.

Winner also earned the victory Monday against Huntington North, limiting the Vikings to two runs on four hits.

Brown smacked two hits and drove in a run, while Jaelynn Lykins and Champ also added RBIs.
