WOODBURN — The Patriot rolled over a pair of conference rivals.
The scores were almost identical.
Jay County Junior High School’s wrestling team cruised to a double victory Thursday, defeating the Southern Wells Raiders 63-24 and the host Woodlan Warriors 63-25.
Recording two victories apiece for the Patriots (12-6) in the Allen County Athletic Conference double dual were Logan Wendel (90 pounds), Leighton Brown (160), Freddie Lingo (195), Spencer Smitley (220) and Carson Busick (275).
Adding wins for Jay County against Southern Wells were Grant Linville (90), Kevin Dues (102), Max McClain (117), Brayden Fox (132), Julian Hudson (140) and Wyatt Bihn (175). Scoring additional victories for the Patriots against Woodlan were Corbin Lothridge (85), Brenna Ruble (102), Cooper Glassford (110), Caleb Sibray (140), Gavin Hambrock (150) and Jason Linn (195).
The team will host the Jay County Invitational beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
