There were plenty of home runs hit Tuesday night.
Despite hitting three home runs in the game, Local 1620 couldn’t overcome Portland Forge of Portland Junior League Sandy Koufax baseball as they fell 10-9 on Tuesday.
Rhysin Blowers’ two solo-home runs powered Local 1620’s offense. Xander Torre added a home run and two RBIs as well.
Dominic Bright scored three runs for Local 1620.
Zane Mapes led the way for Portland Forge with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
Xavien Maxwell, Varen Ridgeway and Cooper Shimp all scored a run as well.
Williams wins
Williams Auto Parts won its game against POET Bioprocessing 10-4 in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball Tuesday.
Hayden Franks led Williams Auto Parts’ offense with a triple on three hits, four RBIs and two runs. Wyatt Fenning also hit a triple, driving in two runs.
Thobe Keller and Zander Williams both had three hits for Williams Auto Parts.
Brett Huntsman drove in two runs on two hits while Carson Dailey drove in one run on a double.
Corbin Hutzler was POET’s top hitter with two triples, two runs and one RBI.
Harvey Hemmelgarn also added two RBIs on two hits.
Double home run
PG-14 of Portland Junior League Willie Mays baseball beat Kiwanis 10-4 Friday.
Beckham Hough and Eli Homan both hit inside-the-park home runs in the victory. Hough also hit a double while Homan smacked a triple.
Sawyer Smitley added two more extra-base hits for PG14 with a double and triple of his own.
Karson Schilling hit a double for Kiwanis while Conner Richman had a single.
Lions win two
Lions Club picked up a pair of wins May 25 and 26 when it took down Kiwanis 5-1 and Display Craft 8-6 in Portland Junior League Willie Mays baseball.
After going down 1-0 to Kiwanis, a five-run fifth inning gave Lions Club the victory. Tuck Hemmelgarn delivered a two-RBI double in the inning and Ryker Price added an RBI single.
Benson Armstrong and Conner Richman had the only hits for Kiwanis.
Lions Club scored five runs in the first two innings against Display Craft and never looked back. Price led the offensive charge with three hits that produced two RBIs and two runs. Bentley Brunswick also added two RBIs.
Henry Teeter hit a home run for Display Craft while also contributing three RBIs.
Finn Hemmelgarn notched wins in both games.
