The World’s Fair of Quilts will be held in Chicago this year and the Swiss Stitchers Quilt Guild has chartered a bus to attend on Saturday, March 27.

Noted botanist coming to Geneva (3/5/04)

Kevin Tungesvick will speak Monday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Geneva Nazarene Church Fellowship Hall, 225 Decatur St., Geneva.

Grief support workshop set (03/23/04)

State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice is starting its spring Grief Support Group on Monday, March 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and for the next five consecutive Mondays. They will meet at the Jay County Hospital in Conference Room C.

Gilbert named to Dean's list (03/25/04)

John David Gilbert, a graduate of Jay County High School, made the Dean’s List at the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences for the 2003 fall semester.

Social worker month set (3/30/04)

In recognition of National Social Worker Month, licensed social workers from State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice would like to share about the important role a social worker plays in the care of hospice patients and families.

Scouts go on trip

Local Boy Scout Troop No. 202 recently relived a part of history as they participated in a camping program aboard the World War II Aircraft Carrier “Yorktown” in Charleston Harbor, S.C.

Addison Rose Pijnappels, 15, of Portland, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Indiana Pageant to be held Sunday, July 18, and Monday, July 19, at the Adam’s Mark Airport Hotel in Indianapolis.
