Summer concerts to conclude this weekend
Fort Recovery Friends of the Arts 2014 Summer Concert Series will have its last concert this Sunday with Shelby County Line — a local country band — performing.
Bureau to hold Tractor Ride Aug. 19
The Jay County Visitor and Tourism Bureau will hold its seventh annual Tractor Ride on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Birthday celebration is Friday
A party will be held at the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva for Gene Stratton-Porter’s birthday and to celebrate her life in Geneva from 1888 until 1913.
Skating party planned
A Girl Scout registration and skating party will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade at StarLite Skating Center, 143 N. Cash St. in Winchester.
Murphy receives award
Justice Murphy, Jay County 4-H grand champion garden exhibitor, received a special 4-H garden award.
Concert, car show scheduled
Classic rock and vintage cars will be the entertainment Aug. 9 in Berne.
Library to host book sale
Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St. in Portland, has several activities coming up in August and September.

The Jay County Well Child Clinic, 521 S. Wayne St., Portland, will be open Tuesday, May 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Ronald to attend conference
A Jay County High School junior has been selected to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) in Washington, D.C. and New York City in June.
Wine tasting event set (5/27/03)
The Art Association of Randolph County is hosting a wine event entitled, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, on Saturday, June 14, from 6-10 p.m.
Adult reading program to start (5/29/03)
Goodies for Grownups is the theme for an adult summer reading program sponsored by the Jay County Public Library this summer.
Girls State delegates picked (5/14/03)
The Pennville American Legion Auxiliary has chosen two Jay County High School teens for Hoosier Girls State.
